Iva Tomić predstavila je sva tri dijela disertacije čiju je temu pod naslovom Essays on labour market in post-transition economy: The case of Croatia prihvatilo Sveučilište u Ljubljani u rujnu 2010. godine.

Disertacija se sastoji od tri znanstvena članka od kojih su dva prezentirana na redovitim godišnjim konferencijama EALE-a (European Association of Labour Economists): Matching, adverse selection and labour market flows in a (post) transition setting: the case of Croatia 2011. godine (naknadno objavljen u časopisu Post-communist economies) i Structural Unemployment in Croatia - How Important is the Occupational Mismatch? 2012. godine.

Projekt " Environmental Competence Towards Labour Market and VET Systems ", skraćeno ECOLAV, sudjelovao je na Natječaju 2012. godine za Leonardo da Vinci aktivnost Partnerstvo u okviru Programa za cjeloživotno učenje, a prihvaćen je tijekom srpnja 2007. godine.

Endogenous factors include: shortcomings in the transition and privatisation of veterinary organisations, slowed adaptation of veterinary structures to the economic changes in Croatia, accelerated state control of veterinary medicine and, particularly, the absence of systematic policies on the veterinarian labour market.

The lack of balance in supply and demand, i. e. the excess supply on the veterinary labour market, is legally driving down the labour prices for veterinarians, weakening their economic positive and social status, which in the long-term has very negative consequences for the veterinary profession in Croatia.

Aktivna politika sastoji se u posredovanju (job broking) s ciljem učinkovitog usklađivanja ponude i potražnje radnih mjesta, zatim obrazovanju prema potrebama tržišta rada (labour market training) radi prilagođavanja kvalifikacija tražitelja zaposlenja ponudi na tržištu rada i stvaranja radnih mjesta (job creation) u javnom ili u privatnom sektoru (Kerovec, 1997.).

21.06.2013. 13:49 Održan drugi radni sastanak partnerskih timova projekta ECOLAV Dana 6. i 7. lipnja 2013. godine u Berlinu je održan drugi radni sastanak partnerskih timova projekta ECOLAV (Environmental Competences towards LAbour market and Vet systems), projekta pokrenutog u okviru potprograma Leonardo da Vinci partnerstva (Program za cjeloživotno učenje) Europske unije, u kojem Hrvatska akademska i istraživačka mreža CARNet sudjeluje kao partner iz Hrvatske.

Projekt je financiran sredstvima Europske unije kroz program IPA Youth in the labour market te je Hrvatska gospodarska komora Županijska komora Otočac kao suradnik na projektu pružala stručnu pomoć u pripremi materijala za edukacijske module te uspostavljala suradnju s poslodavcima kao jednom od ciljnih skupina ovoga projekta.
