My heart has become capable of every form: it is a pasture for gazelles and a convent for Christian monks, and a temple for idols and the pilgrim ' s Kaa ' ba, and the tables of the Torah and the book of the Quran.

Do they not ponder over the Quran?

As a matter of fact the Quran is completely silent on the question of death as a punishment for apostasy.

Since this name was never used in the Quran and has no equivalent in Arabic one has to come to the conclusion that Muhammad (p. b. u. h.) did not fulfill this requirement of a true prophet

But question what the Quran says

According to the rumors, the harsh punishment was meted out after the girl, upset by her mother s request to bring her the Quran as she was watching television, threw the holy Muslim book at the mother with disdain

To say that the Quran was a miracle given to Muhammad (p. b. u. h.) is unreasonable because many could write a piece of literature and then claim it miraculously came from God.

See, and in many other verses, the Quran is saying what is the punishment of those who are against Allah and his messenger, Mohammed: to be crucified, to cut their hands and their legs, or to be cast away from the society.

Killing is in the Quran, and I want to let, to get anybody who is really honest to himself, and tell him, " Tell me, don ' t talk about friendship. " It is very interesting to notice one thing, that in one of the verses of the Quran it says, " Muslims, do not befriend Jews or Christians. " Period.

And they came to the Christian country, to the US, and said, " Please, help us. " But the Quran said don ' t befriend them, don ' t ask for their protection, don ' t go to them for help

How come that you are coming now to the US and England, and France, " Help us " Because when it comes to politics, the Quran is forgotten, especially in the high places.

There is killing in the Quran, there is torture in the Quran; there is much pain for the people living under the Islamic society if they are Jews or Christians.

I don ' t think that anybody who reads the Quran could deny what I have said.

Forgive me, but this is my understanding. " But this is what the Quran is saying

Is that the Islam in the Quran?

The Quran is very explicit to tell the Muslims, " Go fight and kill. " And if we see a young man, 20 years, or 18 years in Palestine, and putting a bomb around themselves, and making a suicidal bomb, and kill himself and kill some Israelis, it is not an invention of the Hamas, or the Hezboulah, or anybody.

The Quran says, " Go fight, fight, fight. " So if we want to see fighting, and the killing, in the Quran, let us read the words of the Quran.

And then, we go to another surat, and that is in the Quran, in surat (Al Bakara, that is surat number 2, verse 216, " Jihad (this is fighting, holy fighting in Allah ' s name) is ordained for you, Muslims. " Now, if someone will come and say that those who are fighting, Jews and Christians are fighting then because they are fanatics, they do not know Islam.

If He has chosen to distinguish us from other creatures through His gift of freedom, instead of creating us believers by necessity like stones, mountains, and the earth, which all fear the responsibility of freedom shouldered by Man, the ignorant, the unjust; if that is so, then the exercise of that freedom will become a matter of course a self-evident truth confirmed by the Quran as in, No one is to be compelled to believe

At the time of the Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, the Quran tells us of those who believed and then disbelieved again and so forth.

Rahman, former Chief Justice of Pakistan while discussing in his monograph The Punishment of Apostasy in Islam looked into the evidence in the Quran and the Sunnah in detail, and draws attention to the fact that the Quran is silent on the question of death as the punishment for apostasy, despite this subject occurring no less then twenty times in the Holy Book [ ibid p 93 ].

Imam baqir (the 6 th successor of the Prophet), said that the Quran is like an ocean, where everyone benefits from it.....

But elsewhere the Quran refutes this interpretation, because Muhammad asserts the father of Mary was Imran, Moses ' father

She says that men should be entitled to inherit more than women, because this is what the Quran says

Secondly, the Quran contradicts in very plain words the commandments and the words of the Bible.

When I ask someone to show me where, in the Quran, Muslims are not allowed to celebrate birthdays, or keep dogs, or pluck their eyebrows, or have statues - they direct me to Hadith.

Because it ' s not in the Quran.

Some Hadith actually contradict Quranic edicts - particularly those in relation to the status of women and some have no basis and cannot be validated in the Quran (eg hijab - not in the Quran, only in Hadith and according to which sect you follow might mean anything from a scarf over the hair to a complete covering of face and hands)

First, and foremost, the two different books, the Quran and the Bible.

You know you ' ll go to the Quran, and you ' ll see a big difference between the standard of life in the Bible and in the Quran, concerning marriage and divorce; concerning dealing with the wife.
