Poveznica između soli i moždanih funkcija nije toliko čvrsta, ali su rezultati studije Longitudinal Study on Nutrition and Successful Aging pokazali jaku korelaciju između unosa soli, niske fizičke aktivnosti i opadanja moždanih funkcija u poznijim godinama.
