U konkurenciji međunarodnih ostvarenja Grand Prix je osvojio film " Three rooms of melancholy " (" Tri sobe melankolije "), finske autorice Pirjo Honkasalo, koji govori o ljudskoj tragediji prouzrokovanoj ratom u čečeniji.

Robert Burton je spominje u poznatom djelu ' The Anatomy of Melancholy ' kao odličan antidepresiv, a iz tog vremena dolaze i svjedočanstva da je iznimno korisna i u umjetnosti, pa je prilikom kreacije svojih remek-djela koriste Victor Hugo, Honoré de Balzac i Alexandre Dumas.
